Muskoka’s natural environment – its clean water and healthy forests – are likely one of the reasons that you made the investment in a property on the lake. These same features are often most impacted when we start making changes to the environment around us.
The desire to live lake-side in a way that preserves our natural heritage and minimizes our impact, is growing. The information in the various documents posted in this section will allow you to protect the health of your family and visitors, protect the beauty of your property, and also protect the value of your investment.
We thank the various organizations whose materials we are sharing with you, for the research and work they have done. These include : the Muskoka Watershed Council, the Muskoka Conservancy, the Federation of Ontario Cottage Associations, and the University of Guelph, Hydro One, Ontario’s Invading Species Awareness Program, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, and Bird Watch Canada. Putting their suggestions into practice, will help us preserve our clean waters and healthy forests for the generations that follow.
